the last review....XD
here we go again....last lap of the news review!!!
1)A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra on Friday, the US Geological Survey said, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. The quake hit at six minutes after midnight (1706 GMT Thursday) 167 kilometres west of Bengkulu on the island's south-west coast, at a depth of 40 kilometres, the USGS said. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre in Hawaii said there was no risk of a major tsunami, but warned that there could be localised problems.
my opinion: This news made me think that maybe the we ourselves are making this earthquake.Itm maybe because of the works underground to build buildings with basement, this works might be the reason to cause the earthquake.different companies all over the world has different projects of building different things like subway, buildings, mrt underground etc.As they do this projects they are digging into the earth and it makes it quake and the digging is coming all over the world and usually it hits tne coast of the indonesian island of sumatra.i hope that such earthquake like at sichuan, china just earlier this year might not happen again because it took away many lives of the chinese nationals and maybe some tourists visiting there.
2)The Boys' Brigade Sharity Gift Box began its delivery of presents on Saturday to more than 18,000 beneficiaries. Delivery was done in style this year with a convoy of 28 Rav4 cars led by four Harley Davidson motorbikes. Fifteen youths from Beyond Social Services, a charity organisation, also joined in the delivery of food hampers to needy families. The youths are hamper recipients themselves and wanted to pay it forward in spreading the Christmas cheer. But this year, there may not be enough food to deliver. At this time last year, 60 per cent of what was needed was already collected from the public. This time round, only half that amount has been collected and the project is just six days away from closing. Churches like the New Creation Church are responding to this call. The church is holding a one-day collection for its 18,000 members to donate daily essentials to the Gift Box on Sunday at Suntec City.
my opinion:Its good to have this kind of project to help the beneficiaries which is in charge of different people who needed help. Its just sad that this time around they didn't make it to their target to help the needy.its lucky that the New Creation Church and other churches are helping the boys to reach the target.i hope more people will put in more things for the needy and unfortunate people.
I HOPE ALL OF YOU HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!XD
SEE YOU ALL ON JAN 5 FOR ME...HEHE...HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!

Dear Riz,
1) An earthquake is more major than the shakes we feel near construction sites. Thus it is not possible for works underground to cause massive earthquakes. Do read up about the cause of earthquakes in wikipedia. For an article like this, you could comment on some of the measures that earthquake prone countries should have and why Singaporeans who travel widely should learn about such safety measures as well.
2) What about yourself? What can you do to help such efforts? If you do not have spare cash to donate, what can you do to help out?
