1) incomeshield policyholders will get some help from the insurer to cope with premium increases. From december 1, medishiled premuims have been adjusted to mathc an increase in benefits for singaporeans.NTUC incomeshiled premuims went up by an average of less than $2.50 a month. income is launching a $6 million assiatance scheme to help lower income and elderly patients whose finances are affected by the economic downturn.existing incomeshield policyholders below 61 years old will have their monthly premuim increase capped at $5 or $10 , depending on the wards their plans are pegged to.


my opinion: i felt that its good that incomeshiled is helping the less fortunate and the elderly patients because they might have enough money to pay up the monthly income especially now that the economic is getting bad.also the monthly premuim increases of $5 or $10 to the elderly is good because they helped them to minimize there expenditure this coming christmas.i hoped that this will benefit the poorer citizen and the elderly for this cominng christmas that almost some toys or things that they were selling now is higher because of the economic and financial crisis.it minimizes the expenditure of the poorer people.


2)The hotels in Singapore have ramped up their security measures since the terrorist attack in Mumbai. The terrorist attack has caused a death of a Singaporean, who was kidnapped by the terrorists. Now, the hotels in Singapore have tightened up their security so as to ensure that such terrorist attacks would not take place in Singapore. The staffs of the hotel are also trained to deal with chemical attacks like bomb and also to deal with other critical situation. The terrorist attack in Mumbai would always serve as a painful reminder to Singapore as well as other countries and to raise awareness to citizens.



my opinion: i felt that its good to have the idea of tightening up the security of the top hotels in singapore so if there is one time that terrorists might attack these hotels they can prevent it from happening and save the precious lives of those in the hotel like tourists from all over the world.i felt sad or that singaporean who died in mumbai. its also very good to train the staffs for this kind of situation. i also learnt that everyone all over the world to be vigilant and very alert to those what is happening around them bacuse we dont know when is those terrorists going to attack places.
